About the Student Affairs T-Shirt Design Contest

All currently enrolled SHSU students in good standing at Sam Houston State University are invited to participate. The winning t-shirt design will be produced and distributed to Bearkats during the Fall 2018. The winner will receive a $250 gift certificate to the University Bookstore.

Submissions Deadlines: Nov. 15, 2017 through Nov. 30, 2017.

Where: Designs may be submitted online or dropped off at the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs located in the Lowman Student Center Suite 303.

How does it work?

Create your Student Affairs t-shirt following these guidelines:

  • Use InDesign (save as an .ai file, or .pdf and submit online using the "Submit Your T-Shirt Design" tab.

  • Draw by hand - Download a t-shirt template, (scan and save as a .PDF and submit online using the "Submit Your T-Shirt Design" tab.)

  • JPG, PDF, AI, PSD, PNG files are accepted (dimensions: 12" x 12")

  • The University's brand colors should be incorporated in the design.

  • The design should be created for use on either a white, orange or blue t-shirt.

  • Official SH Athletics logos and marks are prohibited from use in the design.

  • Use of the University's institutional logo is permitted. Click here to view the institutional logo.

Designs will be judged based on quality and relevance. The judging panel will consist of representatives of the Division of Student Affairs.

Contest Rules

1. The Student Affairs t-shirt design contest is presented by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, Sam Houston State University, and is open to all currently enrolled SHSU students in good standing with the University.

2. A panel of judges representing The Division of Student Affairs will narrow down the submissions. The top submissions will be put to a public vote from Nov. 30 through Dec. 8, 2017 and the winner will be selected.

3. The winner will receive bragging rights, and a $250 gift certificate to the University Bookstore!

4. The winning design will be produced and distributed to Bearkats during on-campus events in the fall of 2018.

5. All designs must be the original artwork of the contestant that incorporates the University's brand (i.e. colors, trademarks, or logos) into the design, that has never been published, and does not contain profanity, trademarks, logos, or copyrighted works of any other person or business.

6. Use of SHSU Athletic marks are strictly prohibited.

7. All designs submitted become property of the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.

8. Artists may display their own design(s) in a portfolio or personal collection, but may not sell or reproduce the design(s) for any other purpose once submitted to the Student Affairs t-shirt design contest. Click here for the complete list of Official Contest Rules.
