CONFERENCE ATTIRE: The attire for all conference events on Friday, February 21, 2020 is casual but we encourage participants to wear attire that represents your university and/or student organization. The attire for all conference events on Saturday, February 22, 2020 is business professional.

GENDER PRONOUNS: As a conference that recognizes and appreciates diversity in relation to, gender identity and expression, the Center for Diversity & Intercultural Affairs and the Diversity Council strives to create an inclusive environment for all attendees. The use of gender pronouns is designed to reduce the discomfort that one may experience should one DLC attendee reference another with an inaccurate pronoun. We encourage everyone to include their pronoun on their name badge upon arrival.

NAME TAG POLICY: All conference participants are required to wear their name badges for admission to all conference events (excluding the opening).

PRAYER ROOM: Conference attendees who would like a space to pray while attending the Diversity Leadership Conference may use LSC 230B, set aside as a prayer room for this purpose.

SHSU FACULTY/STAFF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: SHSU employees can earn Professional Development credit through Talent Management for attending the Diversity Leadership Conference. Just pick up a Certificate of Completion on your way out of each workshop/keynote, along with instructions for uploading your Certificates. SHSU STUDENT ORGANIZATION COMPETITION (SOC): There will be a number of sessions that members participating in the Student Organization Competition (SOC) are able to attend to score points for their organization. At each applicable session, there will be a SOC area that you will need to visit once the session is over to receive ONE point. At “Check Out” on the end of Day 2, your team’s score is calculated in a percentage by the amount of points you’ve earned as a team to the total amount of points your team could have earned. SOC competitors, please pay attention to all notifications from the Guidebook App as there may be opportunities to earn EXTRA points!
