RESTART 2020 for IRB
Restarting face-to-face research in the midst of COVID-19 will require everyone to do their part to help protect participants as well as researchers themselves. Together, we can help stop the spread of COVID-19 by designing new research studies or modifying existing active studies according to the guidelines, which have been approved by the IRB and by SHSU’s legal team.
- The first document (general guidelines for conducting human subjects research) is general information for researchers to consider before completing an application to conduct face-to-face research.
- The second document (COVID Consent Draft) is language that we propose to be included in consent documents.
- The third document (COVID-19 Matrix Chart) is a guide to help researchers identify risks and potential steps for mitigating those risks.
REQUIREMENT: You are required to use these guidelines while preparing your application or updating already approved studies. Before ANY in-person data collection can begin, you must have IRB approval specifically for the conduct of this type of research.
