As of Today, SHSU expanded the cybersecurity continuing education requirements to all SHSU IREs in accordance with the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) guidelines. This requirement goes above and beyond your Annual Cybersecurity Awareness Requirements.

How do IREs meet the continuing education requirements?

To meet DIRs continuing education requirements, IREs must complete one or three hours of cybersecurity continuing education each fiscal year. The training hours are determined based on responsibilities when using an information system. Once the training is complete, the IRE will need to certify their required training hours in Talent Management.

What trainings do IREs need to take?
We developed a website just for IREs. This site includes information regarding training guidelines, basic cybersecurity training options and resources and more.
