Beginning September 3, 2021, a setting will be enabled on Zoom to automatically delete recordings 60 days after they are created.
Why is this change happening?
Zoom storage is intended for short-term use and old recordings are taking up space for you and the campus community. We know that work gets busy and managing your recordings in Zoom is probably at the bottom of your to do list. With this new setting, you can take it off your list altogether!
But I need my recordings for more than 60 days…
We have a solution for you! To keep your Zoom recordings past the 60-day limit, you can use the below options:
- Faculty - Kaltura automatically saves all lecture recordings for you, there is no need to keep a secondary copy in the Zoom storage system. Your recordings are stored in Kaltura indefinitely.
- Staff – Download the recordings you need to keep and upload them to Microsoft OneDrive to ensure you have access your recordings from anywhere as needed. Don’t forget to delete the recordings from Zoom.
