In the office or remotely, your SHSU devices are a vital part of your daily tasks.
Today, we are going to focus on working remotely. Whether you are working from home or are at a conference, your SHSU device is your portable office (If you aren’t using remote access). This means when it is running slower than normal or you don’t have access to various software, your remote workday can be quickly derailed.
The secret to ensuring your device works when you need it to are the device's maintenance windows.
What is a maintenance window?
Every day, we send out updates such as software and security updates to all SHSU devices. This helps us ensure you always have reliable technology. But if your device is off and not connected to the internet, it is missing important updates, which causes the slowness or an extended amount of time to turn on.
What can you do to avoid this?
At night, ensure your device is on, charging and connected to the internet. When you wake up in the morning, your device should be ready for any work you need to complete.
What time does the maintenance occur?
Maintenance to your device is complete at the below times:
- Monday - Friday: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Sunday: 12 a.m. to 12 a.m.
- Saturday: 12 a.m. to 12 a.m.
If you happen to be working this late, you will receive a notice before your computer restarts.
