Exploring Kinesiology programs and sports facilities in South Korea
This program offers students at SHSU the opportunity to complete 3 hours of KINE 1331 (Foundations of Kinesiology), a required course for all degree programs in Kinesiology. The study of movement can vary greatly between countries and cultures; there are varied interpretations of exercise and overall body health and movement, and how it is studied around the world. As a component of the course, students will spend 11 days in South Korea to gain exposure to the study of human movement in South Korea. Students in this course will visit historic landmarks, universities and schools, architectural sites, and tour sport and exercise facilities across South Korea.
Instruction on-campus: May 28-29 & June 15-25, 2020
Instruction abroad: June 2-13, 2020
- KINE 1331: Foundations of Kinesiology
Prerequisite: There are no specific requirements. Any undergraduate student at SHSU may enroll in KINE 1331- Foundations of Kinesiology. Non-majors may enroll in KINE 1331 for a 3-hour elective.
Student will be staying in hotels in South Korea.
Students will be asked to book their own flights. DO NOT book your flights until receiving specific instruction to do so.
$1,330 (including a $300 non-refundable deposit to secure a spot in the program)
- Includes: meals, hotels, and site entrance fees.
- Not Included: airfare, regular SHSU tuition & fees* (summer semester), $200 Study Abroad Service Fee, spending money
*Note: Faculty-led, out-of-country courses do not charge 3 fees: Rec Center, Student Center and Health Center=$275, as opposed to on-campus courses.
PROGRAM PAYMENT DEADLINES
- $300 deposit due within 1 week of acceptance into program (assessed upon acceptance)
- $500 payment due February 10th
- $300 payment due March 10th
- $230 Remaining Program Balance due April 10th
