Writing Support Services
The Graduate School at Sam Houston State University is fully committed to student success. Because of our commitment, we work passionately to assist students in meeting their research and writing goals and deadlines. Read more about our writing services below:
Thesis Writing Session (TWS)
There is no “I” in “TEAM”. Because of this, The Graduate School offers writing support for thesis-track master’s students. Thesis Writing Sessions (TWS) are designed to provide assisted writing through the use of writing specialists, librarians, and tutors. All TWS sessions are concluded with goal-setting and debriefs. Dinner will be provided to attendees.
Thesis & Dissertation Writing Recharge (TDWR)
Do you need a boost of motivation to continue writing your thesis or dissertation? Would you benefit from peer collaboration? If the answer to those questions are “Yes,” then Thesis & Dissertation Writing Recharge (TDWR) will answer the call! Writing Recharges allow masters and doctoral students to join forces and conquer the dreaded writer’s block. WR sessions include a team activity, cooperative writing, and an end-of-session debrief. Breakfast and lunch are provided to attendees.
Dissertation Writing Retreat (DWR)
Have you been searching for a space to concentrate on your writing, one that’s free of distraction? If so, Dissertation Writing Retreat (DWR) is the place to be! DWR is a day of scholarship offered to dissertating students seeking an uninterrupted writing environment. The Graduate School partners with campus and community practitioners to unpack the complexities of learners’ academic and personal lives, and strategies in which to balance those identities. DWR thoughtfully includes goal-setting and writing periods with the assistance of writing specialists, librarians, and tutors. Breakfast and lunch are provided to attendees.
