1When will my aid apply?

We will begin applying aid starting the week of August 9th.

2Expecting a Refund?

  • Please allow 5 business days for refunds to be issued to your refund preference.
  • Negative amount on Fee Statement? A negative amount means a pending refund.
  • Fee Statement is now $0? Once the negative amount goes to $0 a refund is in progress and could take 24-72 hours to process to student’s refund preference.

3Why am I not awarded?

Check your Status

  • Check your SHSU email account to determine if any additional information has been requested.
  • If documentation is requested, log into your MySam account for instructions, to view requested documents, and check status of your file.
  • If no documentation is requested by SHSU, skip to Financial Aid Notification.

Choose your Aid Option(s)

  • Log into your MySam account to view your Aid Notification.
  • Know what you need to pay for your education. Schedule a Coaching Session with the Student Money Management Center.
  • Accept or Decline each aid offer.

7Need a Semester Emergency Loan?

  1. Sign up for Payment Plan
    • My Sam > My Account Tab > Cashier’s Office > Sign up for Payment Plan
  2. Sign up for Semester Emergency Loan to defer first 10% payment for 90 days
    • SamWeb > Financial Aid > Semester Loan > Choose Semester
