The Sam Houston Alcohol Referral Program (SHARP) is a 6hr-long Alcohol Awareness course offered by the SHSU Alcohol & Drug Abuse Initiative. SHARP is a state-approved program that utilizes the Alcohol Education Program for Minors curriculum from the Texas Department of State Health Services.  SHARP classes are held once a month over the course of the academic year.

Successful completion of the SHARP course fulfills the requirement of taking an 'Alcohol Awareness' course that may be required for breaches of the alcohol policy within SHSU Residence Life or Student Guideline.  SHARP also fulfill the mandate for an Alcohol Awareness course  by a Judge for alcohol policy violations (minor in possession or public intoxication).  The schedule and more information about the SHARP program can be found on the link below
