Note: Drop-ins are only available on Fridays

Step 1

Click here and log in to MySam. When asked to login, please use your SHSU username and password. Once logged in, navigate to the Students tab and locate the Campus Connect for Students box. Click on the blue Go to Campus Connect link and continue to Step 2.

Step 2

You should now be logged in to Campus Connect and at the Student Home screen. On this screen, look to the right side of the window and click the blue Schedule a Tutoring Appt with ASC button. This will take you to the online scheduler for Campus Connect allowing you to continue to Step 3.

Step 3

In the next screen, choose Writing Tutoring as the reason you'd like to see someone. In next section where you have an option to choose from the following options, select the type of appointment you'd like to schedule. Click Next to continue.
Remember: if you are an online student and require an online tutoring session with GoToMeeting, select ASC - Writing (Online). Otherwise, your appointment will be ON CAMPUS.

Step 4

In the next screen, choose your appropriate location. This tutorial assumes that you want a session on the main campus, so choose Academic Success Center - Main Campus Writing for what location you prefer. Leave the next blank as Any Advisor (for maximum availability) unless you have a specific tutor you would prefer. Click Next to continue.

Step 5

Choose a date and time that works best for you. Campus Connect will display all available appointments, so if you do not see any availabilities on a particular day, these times are, unfortunately, already booked.
Remember: Drop-ins/Walk-ins are only available on Fridays. Also, you can schedule appointments until the day before finals begin, so schedule early and as soon as you know when an assignment is due. You can always have your appointment moved at a later time.

Step 6

Confirm your appointment details including the date, time, and location. Students are responsible for confirming their time here on this screen as well as in the confirmation e-mail they receive once their appointment has been scheduled.
Remember: if you want an e-mail reminder, text reminder, or both reminders, select them on this screen. Both are sent by default.
