Online Dissertation: Support Group Meeting

In response to student requests we are now offering an ONLINE Dissertation Support Group meeting. The Woodlands Center in conjunction with the Office of Graduate Studies is going to be kicking off our first Online Dissertation Support Group this month.

Huntsville Branch American Association of University Women (AAUW) Scholarship

AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP: $800 for Spring or Summer Semester 2015

QUALIFICATIONS: Female Graduate Student attending Sam Houston State University with one graduate semester completed. Scholarship, leadership activities, and financial need will be considered.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Student must be carrying a minimum of 9 semester hours (if a Teaching Assistant).
  •  A letter addressed to the AAUW Scholarship Committee stating the applicant’s qualifications, scholastic record, academic
    classification, personal history and financial need. (SAMID, email address, mailing address, phone number need to be included.)
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • An official Plan of Work or Degree Plan
  • A transcript of college and completed graduate work (an unofficial copy is acceptable).

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 5:00 p.m., November 21, 2014. Awards will be made by December 9, 2014.

Graduate Research Exchange Awards*

Deadline: Monday, December 1, 2014

Graduate students apply to participate in the 18th Annual Research Exchange, which will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in the LSC. ALL graduate students, regardless of field, are encouraged to participate and will be evaluated by a judge from their field. Awards will be given in the following categories: Best Research, Best in Presentation, Most Creative Research, and Most Impactful Research. Runners up in each category will also be honored. This year, video presentations will be accepted in an ongoing effort to meet the needs of our online students.
