Faculty Opportunities

Active Learning Workshops

  • Attend one of several discipline-specific workshops and seminars across the country that provide intensive guidance on the design and implementation of active learning in STEM classrooms.
  • Attend a one-week summer course to learn relatively easy techniques to implement in a STEM classroom.

Course Development

  • Join a cohort of faculty who receive a small stipend to formally redesign an undergraduate course, which integrates active learning as a major component of the pedagogy.
  • Assist with the development of future summer courses intended to close the barriers of success in core STEM courses. (Financial compensation available)

Summer Academies for Incoming STEM majors

  • Join a team of instructors who develop and/or teach an active learning summer STEM academy (compensation is available). This academy will be designed to help incoming STEM majors earn an A or B in their first STEM course that’s traditional been very difficult for our students.

Intro to STEM Research course

  • Teach a team-taught STEM research course.
  • Mentor 1-3 sophomore or junior students in a course designed to involve students in a STEM research project.

Guest Speakers

  • Opportunities to be informally involved with the STEM research course as a guest speaker highlighting STEM educational and career information.
