Linda Bowers Rushing received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1964 with a major in journalism and a minor in English with a teacher certification. Ms. Rushing went on to teach 30 years in schools around Texas producing award winning yearbooks and newspapers and developing numerous college bound writers and photographers. While teaching, she also edited historical newsletters, textbooks, and periodicals as freelance work. After retiring, she joined her daughters in Huntsville and renewed friendships with many who never left Huntsville or had chosen to move back since high school and college days. As a member of several organizations and president of many, her latest role is president of the Walker County Area Alumni and Friends Club and CHSS Advisory Board member.
