HONR 4375: Special Topics for Honors: Seminar in African Studies (Prerequisites: Consent of faculty leader; honors student in good standing).
PROGRAM COST
$5,200 (including a $300 non-refundable deposit)
Includes: Tuition & fees * (summer semester), $200 study abroad service fee, airfare, lodging, meals, transportation and fees
TRIP HIGHLIGHTS
- Explore the bush country of Africa at the beautiful Matobo Hills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with abundant wildlife and diverse cultures.
- Study a working gold mine and visit the Khami Ruins archaeological site.
- Participate in the conservation of rhino and volunteer at an orphanage.
- Visit Hwange National Park, with one of the largest elephant herds in Africa, to study ecotourism, land use and conservation practices, and interact with members of local villages.
- Experience Victoria Falls, one of the most beautiful spots in Africa and one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
- See incredible rock art in one of the most concentrated rock art locations in the world.
