Simmie "Mindy" Oden

Clinical Lifetime Health and Wellness Coordinator, Department of Kinesiology

HKC 217

I joined the Department of Kinesiology in 2009 as Coordinator and instructor of Lifetime Health and Wellness, KINE 2115. Prior to joining the faculty at SHSU I worked for over 20 years in Corporate, Hospital, and University Wellness with duties that included all areas of fitness, nutrition, health education, and health and wellness programs/screenings, including fitness testing and consultations. It is my passion to instill the importance of a healthy lifestyle through the avenues of prevention, fitness and nutrition to the students who take KINE 2115; to show students how to apply the knowledge they gain; and most importantly, utilize the skills learned in this course throughout their college/professional careers and adult lives.
