The Reba Bock Fellows Experience

Each year one student with a passion for community engagement and leadership is awarded a fellowship to make a significant contribution to the Huntsville community.

ACE Researchers

Faculty scholarly activity (presentations and publications focused on community engagement) is supported through monetary rewards. New ACE Researchers are selected each year.

SHSU Essay Contest

The Sam Houston Writing Center hosts an annual essay contest to showcase SHSU students' commitment to civic engagement and the betterment of their communities through applying the SHSU motto, "The Measure of a Life is its Service."

Constitution Day

Constitution Day is a day to remember the role the Constitution has played in organizing our political system and providing a framework in which to discuss pressing social and moral issues over the past two centuries. Lectures and workshops are offered to students.

Community Grants

The Center for Community Engagement offers grants to support ACE faculty in purchases to enhance their ACE courses.

The American Democracy Project

The American Democracy Project (ADP) encourages civic participation on campus through voting, volunteerism, advocacy and other forms of involvement that are necessary for preparing informed, engaged citizens for our democracy.
