We are excited that you are interested in Sam Houston State University!
The Visitor Center staff and Bearkat Student Ambassadors strive to be the “welcoming committee” for visitors and prospective students to the campus. As such, we endeavor to be knowledgeable about the campus, student life, and Huntsville providing good customer-service while reflecting an enthusiastic “Bearkat Spirit” at all times.
Every day is different and exciting at the Visitor Center due to our wide variety of visitors! Most of our visitors receive a packet of SHSU information, a general presentation, and a walking tour of the campus.
The Visitor Center also provides campus maps, information packets, Huntsville information, city maps, directions, and responds to a host of questions about SHSU and Huntsville. In essence, we provide a widely-encompassing “information center” for the campus and the Huntsville area.

- Register groups or individuals for Saturdays@SAM on November 21, 2009
- Obtain department brochures to assist in educational planning
