Purpose. To oversee
and assure Sam Houston State University's compliance with House Bill 1, Article
9-6.41 (Customer Satisfaction Assessment)
and Senate Bill 1563 (Customer Service Standards), as enacted by the Seventy-sixth
Legislature, and as outlined in a memorandum from Mr. Albert Hawkins, Director,
Governor's Office of Budget and Planning, and Mr. John Keel, Director, Legislative
Budget Board, dated October 26, 1999.
House Bill 1, Article 9-6.41 (Customer Satisfaction Assessment) requires an
assessment of specific customers' level of satisfaction with services provided;
the results must be reported in the state mandated strategic plan.
Senate Bill 1563 (Customer Service
Standards) requires specific action by the institution and requires that
certain findings be reported to the Legislative
Budget Board and the Governor's Office of Budget and Planning by June 1 of
even-numbered years, beginning in 2000. The committee should submit its
report to the President's Cabinet by May 1 of even-numbered years. After
review by the President's Cabinet, the report will be forwarded to the appropriate
state offices, as required.
Appointments. The President makes all appointments from nominations
submitted by members of the President's Cabinet. Terms of service are
indefinite. Chair is by position: Director of Public Relations.
