Purpose. Develop recommendations for an assessment process for the University's core curriculum. The assessment process should be sufficient to satisfy the requirements set forth by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Appointments. The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs makes all appointments from nominations submitted by the academic deans and the University Faculty Senate. The committee consists of eleven members - two nominated by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, one nominated by the Dean of the College of Business Administration, one nominated by the Dean of the College of Criminal Justice, one nominated by the College of Education, one nominated by the Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, three members of the Faculty Senate nominated by the Faculty Senate, a Chair appointed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and the Director of Institutional Research and Assessment. The members serve three-year terms; the Chair serves an indefinite term.
