The SHC is equipped with an in-house laboratory. The medical technologist can administer some laboratory tests and have the results in a matter of minutes. Patients at doctor offices and hospitals can wait hours or even days for results. The laboratory may conduct tests that are ordered by any medical practitioner licensed to practice in Texas.
