Purpose. Represents the various academic
colleges in matters relating to graduate study, instruction, and
research; serves in an advisory capacity to the Dean of Graduate
Studies; and serves as liaison between central administration and
the academic deans and the Newton Gresham Library.
Appointments. The President makes all appointments
to the Graduate Council from nominations submitted by the academic
deans. Members serve two-year terms expiring at the end of the fiscal year. Membership should include: one faculty member (representative for graduate programs) from the College of Criminal Justice; one faculty member (representative for graduate programs) from the College of Fine Arts and Mass Communication; two faculty members (1 representative for Master's & Certificate programs and 1 representative for Doctoral programs) from the College of Education; and two faculty members (1 representative for Master's programs and 1 representative for Doctoral programs) from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The
chair is the Dean of Graduate Studies.
