Creating a Standard Frame

Creating a Standard Frame

To create a standard rectangle frame choose the rectangle x icon on the left side of the toolbar. Choose the solid rectangle icon on the left to create another shaped frame such as an ellipse or polygon.

Editing  Frame Size

Use the selection tool (solid arrow) single click on the selected frame (while holding down the mouse) and drag one of the handles appearing around the outside edges.

Creating a Custom Frame

To create a different shape of frame or adjust individual points of the frame shape, use the Direct Select tool (The white arrow), click on the specific frame and move the handle points on the frame edges. You can also add more points by using the Arch Anchor tool while the frame is selected (click on the icon, hold down the mouse button and drag the mouse to the right).

Borders and Shading

The Stroke Palette (Window>Stroke) will allow different color borders and styles. (Have the swatches palette open Window>Swatches to add color.) Click on the frame using the white arrow tool. Choose the stroke tab in stroke palette menu. ‘Type’ will change the different style of frames; ‘Color Gap’ will change the gap color in the border. Choose the ‘Color tab’ in the same palette to change the color of the border.
