Filtering your Spam Mail in Microsoft Outlook

 

To set up a rule to filter spam, open up Microsoft Outlook. Then, Under the File menu, select Manage Rules & Alerts.

When you get into the New Rule dialog box, make sure to select the Start creating a rule from a template button. From there, select Move messages with specific words in the subject to a folder. Then, click on the Specific Words link in the Edit the Rule Description box.

Once the Search Text dialog appears, type {SPAM} in the top blank and click Add. The characters {SPAM} should appear in the Search List box. Then click OK.

Next, click the Specified link in the Rule Description box.

Then, choose the Junk E-Mail folder or another folder you wish to send Spam mail to. Click OK.

 

Select a destination folder in outlook


 

Your complete rule should then appear in the Rule Description box. Click OK.
