What is Microsoft Lync 2010?
Lync is a conference bridge, Instant Messaging (IM), and online collaboration and sharing tool that will be available to all SHSU employees. As a Microsoft product, Lync can interact efficiently with other Office products such as Outlook and Word.
Features
Single Sign-On Technology
- Once you log in to your SHSU account, Lync will automatically sign you in when you launch the program. If you wish, you can set Lync to launch when you log in.
Interactive Messaging Client
- Lync contacts appear in Outlook e-mails and you can even start instant messaging (IM), without switching to Lync. Additionally, Outlook email messages can be sent directly to contacts from Lync itself.
- Outlook calendar integration allows your status in Lync to automatically update.
