Captivate

After opening Captivate for the first time, you will be prompted with a screen that looks like this

You will have several options to start with:

Software Simulation	Produce interactive simulations and demonstrations of software and other programs
Blank Project	Start with an empty project file
From Microsoft PowerPoint	Import slides from PowerPoint
Image Slideshow	Create a slideshow presentation with each slide containing an image
Project Template	Design stunning looking Adobe Captivate projects with matching banners, caption styles, and borders.
From Template	Design a new project from a previously saved template
Aggregator Project	Connect together two or move Captivate movies into a shared table of contents

Selecting "Blank Project" will allow you to set up your desired screen resolution

Once you have your desired resolution, select OK

You will then be presented with a blank Captivate project
