Freeware and shareware can be installed on SHSU computers with the approval of IT@Sam. This will allow us to protect the university network as well as comply with local, state, and federal policies.  If you find that you need to install this type of software and what you need is not on the approved list, please contact the Service Desk at x4-4357.
When you call you will be asked to provide the following information to expedite your request and approval .

• What is the name of the software that is needed?
• What functionality does this software provide?
• How will this software be used?  (For example: An evaluation for a future purchase or classroom instruction)
