Have you ever wondered if you could forward your e-mail to your Hotmail or Gmail account? Or how to get started with your new SHSU account? Or better yet, how can you put your class roster in Excel for gradebooks?
If you neeed help in any of these topics, we invite you to take a quick look at them now at www.shsu.edu/guides! If you have any ideas for any new topics, please let us know. We are always looking for suggestions and ways to make your job easier for you.
Did you know that the alloted quota for all Faculty/Staff is 1GB?With that in mind, take the time now to go through your S drives to clean out any files that are no longer needed. Also, be sure that any information stored on the S drive is business related and not personal. If you need assistance or are unsure of which files to delete, please contact our Helpdesk.
If any of the files can be shared among others in your department, then the common T drive is the best storage location for those files. If there currently is not a shared folder setup on the common drive for your department, please use the Workorder System to place a workorder requesting a folder to be created. You will also need to include the following information: name of the folder to be created, owner of the folder, names and usernames of the users needing access, and if they need read or read/write access.
Reminder: The common drive is not to be used for classroom material. Blackboard is the best tool for distributing materials to your students. If you need help with adding content to Blackboard, check out our guide.
We have re-pushed SecureCRT to campus over the weekend and it will contain a new "Nell-Secure" session that will replace the "Nell" session. Here's how you can fix any shortcuts that you have created on your desktop.
1. First find and delete any "Nell" shortcuts on your desktop. 2. Click on Start > All programs > SHSU Programs > Communications > CRT 3. Find the "Nell-Secure" session and right-click on it. Drag the icon to your desktop and release the mouse button. 4. Select the option to "Copy"
As always call us or place a workorder if you need any assistance.
