Banner is a comprehensive computer information system that contains information related to

• student admission, enrollment, and graduation
• human resources and payroll
• financial budgeting and accounting
• procurement and travel
• grant management
• financial aid and scholarships

Banner has two primary interfaces:

• SSB or Self-Service Banner: An interface designed for an individual to locate or update information related to their personnel records, financial records, or student records.
• INB or Internet-Native Banner: An administrative interface allowing an individual to locate or update information related to groups of personnel records, financial records, or student records.

Standard Service Features

• Access to personal information
• Access to university data based on job role and data custodian approval

Service Hours

24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays.

User Requirements

• Be a current SHSU employee, student, alumni, or retiree.
• A working network connection.
• An Internet ready, working desktop or laptop connected to the campus network
• Active computer account.

Service Initiation

All computer-account holders can access SSB. INB access is obtained by requesting access from the applicable module owner.

• 99.9% uptime, not including scheduled change outages.
