Software Licensing
All software installed on University-owned equipment
must have a license supporting its installation.
If the software is shareware or freeware the supporting
documentation must be readily available if requested.
A license is required for each installation of
software. Computer Services will provide the licensing
for Microsoft operating systems and for Microsoft
Office under the Microsoft
campus agreement.
If a new computer is purchased it must be purchased
with a copy of a Microsoft OS to be eligible for
this program. All future upgrades will be covered
under the campus agreement. Computer Services will
provide licensing for all software installable
through the Windows XP Program Installation Menu
on Computer Services-maintained PC's.
Computer Services provides a licensed copy of
virus software for University-owned Macintoshes.
For a detailed list of University-licensed software
please refer to the SHSU
Computer Resources page.
