Microsoft Campus Agreement Distribution Information

Office XP will be loaded on the local area network for on-campus machines.

With the Microsoft licensing, Sam Houston State University Department of Information Resources can now provide copies of Microsoft Office to University staff and faculty for departmental laptops, standalone computers, and home computers.

Summary of home use requirements.
The license agreement with Microsoft allows for Information Resources to install copies of Microsoft office for the following uses:
1) Installation on ANY University-owned computer
2) Installation on one personally-owned computer, of a University Staff/Faculty member, who will be performing University work on that computer.

License Info
The software licensing is only covered under the University's license and ownership is not transferred to the user. The License is based on a yearly contract between SHSU Information Resources and Microsoft and must be renegotiated each fiscal year. If Information Resources does not renew the license the software will no longer be licensed and must be removed or the user will be in violation of the software license and subject to laws and regulations governing software piracy.  The Staff/Faculty member issued software may not redistribute the software to any user or computer other than that specified at the time the software is assigned to them. The Staff/Faculty member issued software may not copy or reproduce the software in any manner.
