Tech Tip: Searching for a Word on a Webpage
Have you been on a website that was cluttered with text? How do you find one specific word on that site? Well there is a way to search a webpage for a specific word or phrase.
PC Users
Firefox:
- Click Edit at the top of the page
- Click Find
- A search bar will open up at the bottom of the screen
- Type the word you wish to find and hit Enter
- The page will be searched for that word or phrase
- Any matches will be highlighted
Internet Explorer:
- Click Edit at the top of the page
- Click Find on this Page
- A search bar will open up at the top of the screen
- Type the word you wish to find and hit Enter
- The page will be searched for that word or phrase
- Any matches will be highlighted
The keyboard shortcut for this action is Ctrl + F
Mac Users
Safari:
- Click Edit at the top of the page
- Click Find
- Click Find...
- A search bar will open up at the top of the screen
- Type the word you wish to find and hit Enter
- The page will be searched for that word or phrase
- Any matches will be highlighted
The keyboard shortcut for this action is Command + F
