Microsoft
and Sam Houston State University
In
order to help ensure University license
compliance and to provide better computer
resources to the University, Computer
Services has joined the Microsoft Campus
3.1 Licensing program.
With
this program Sam Houston State's Department
of Computer Services will be able to
provide Microsoft product licensing for
all University-owned computers. A list
of covered products is
provided for reference. A new feature
of this program allows for users/departments
to have a local copy of the software
installed on their computers. In order
to facilitate this, users will be able
to obtain copies of software media from Computer
Services.
An additional
feature of the license program is the
ability for University staff
and faculty to use a licensed
copy of Microsoft office on their personally-owned
computers if that computer is
used to perform University work. Your
use of the licensed copy will be available
to you throughout the duration of the
University's agreement with Microsoft. For
more information about this option, refer
to Microsoft's web site for Work
At Home Rights.
