Thomas H. Cox

Welcome to the website of Dr. Thomas H. Cox, associate professor of history at Sam Houston State University.

Dr. Cox's research interests include U.S. History, the Early Republic, and Constitutional History.


Dr. Cox earned his B.A. in history and B.S. in political science/sociology in 1994 from Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1998 he earned an M.A. in history at State University of New York at Buffalo, followed by his Ph.D. in history at the same institution in 2004.

He expects to complete a Certificate of Chinese Studies from the University of Hawaii-Manoa in 2014.
