Spotlight on Staff - Spotlight on Staff is a recognition given to a randomly selected staff member on behalf of the SHSU Staff Council. Each month (Sept – May), a staff member is randomly selected at the discretion of the Staff Council Special Events Committee. The selection will focus on a different department/division each month and shall not repeat a chosen department within the same calendar year. The recipient is surprised with a Spotlight on Staff certificate along with other items including gift certificates, SHSU items, homemade goods, etc. The SE Committee Chair will take a photo and short bio of each Spotlight on Staff recipient for posting on the SHSU Staff Council and Today@Sam websites and also will notify the Communications Committee so Spotlight on Staff recipients can be included in the Staff Council newsletter. Staff Council members are ineligible for Spotlight on Staff. This recognition is not to take away from the Staff Excellence Awards awarded by SHSU.
