Dr. Sarah Beach
Since the fall semester of 2013, I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Sociology here at Sam Houston State University. I currently teach Social Inequality, online sections of Introduction to Ethnic Studies, and I am scheduled to teach Research Methods in spring 2015. I also engage in research and outreach with the Center for Rural Studies and other colleagues. I hold the following degrees: a PhD in Sociology from Kansas State University, a MA in Sociology from Colorado State University, and a BS in Environmental Sciences from Northern Arizona University. My specialty areas are environmental sociology, the sociology of agriculture and food, and political sociology. My interests and research focus on socio-environmental issues, the agriculture and food system, and social inequalities. I am comfortable focusing on rural issues, urban matters, and/or rural-urban interface concerns.
