Dr. Alessandro Bonanno From October 10 to November 10 he was Visiting Professor at the Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil. He Delivered lectures in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Dr. Bonanno received the Distinguished Paper Award at the 2008 Southwestern Sociological Association Annual Meeting. 

Dr. Doug Constance spoke at the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education's (SARE) 20th Anniversary Conference March 25-27th, 2008, in Kansas City, Missouri.  The topic of his presentation was "Organic Markets: Local to Global."

Dr. Gene Theodori is President of the Southern Rural Sociological Association.
