Sam Houston State University Sociology Department is pleased to announce the introduction of its full online Master's Program. Students are able to take all required courses and fullfill the program's requirements online.

The Sociology Department at Sam Houston State University offers a unique master's degree program designed to meet the needs of busy professionals. This program focuses on building the valuable, usable skills needed to fast forward your career including skills in research grant writing, program evaluation, impact assessment, and community-based research.

Master of Arts (MA)

Program Length
36 Credit Hours

Description:
The Master of Arts in Sociology is designed to provide students with advanced and up-dated instruction in quantitative and qualitative techniques of sociological research, statistics, and theory. Students will develop the advanced professional skills necessary to analyze social issues in applied settings. These skills include research grant writing, program evaluation, impact assessment, and community-based research.

Students pursuing the MA in Sociology will work with faculty with specialties in Environment & Social Change & Development, Stratification, Culture & Institutions, or Applied Sociology.
