Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD)

AKD is the International Sociology Honor Society. The ETA Chapter at Sam Houston was founded in 1958 and serves to encourage academic excellence in Sociology.

As a member, you will receive.

• Recognition at an initiation banquet
• Honor cords for graduation regalia
• Initial one-year subscription to the Sociology Inquiry
• Opportunities to enter the Undergraduate Student Paper Contest
  (The winner presents their paper at the Annual Sociological Association Meeting.)

Membership Requirements

Undergraduate Junior Classification 3.0 GPA Overall 3.0 GPA Sociology Completed 4 Regular Sociology Classes		Graduate Completed one half year of study 3.0 GPA
