Saving for Spring Break

Many college students dream of the perfect Spring Break, but are not sure if they can afford it. Is a week in Panama City worth the cost? Well, the Kat2Kat Peer Counselors have a few suggestions for inexpensive destinations that are sure to save the bank and create life-long memories. This workshop will also teach how to budget for Spring Break and provide financial tips every college student planning to travel should know. No pre-registration is required.

Apartment Hunting 101

Finding an apartment can be a stressful experience for students. In this workshop, we will help you compare pros and cons to living on and off campus. By the end of the hour, you will know the costs associated with living off campus and be equipped with the tools necessary to find the best deal out there.

Student Loan Repayment 101

Standard repayment? Forbearance? Consolidation? If any of these words sound like a foreign language, this workshop is for you. Student Loan Repayment 101 will help you identify the right student loan repayment plan for you. We will discuss how to find your student loan balance and understand the pros and cons of consolidation.

Connect One: Money & Roommates

Make the connection between saving money and having a roommate. This workshop will provide a checklist of things to plan with a roommate before agreeing on an apartment. Connect Two: Money & Leases

Make the connection between saving money and signing a leasing agreement. Moving off campus can be a fun and exciting step in the college experience; however, they are several things students should be aware of before signing the dotted line of a rental agreement. This workshop will discuss leasing stipulations including pet deposits, co-signers, renter’s insurance, and even how to get out of a lease. Free snacks and drinks will be provided.
