The Houston's Bedroom

The Woodland Home's Master Bedroom
This is the bedroom in which Sam and Margaret slept. It is directly across the dogrun from the parlor. The only item in the room that belonged to the Houstons is the wardrobe in the corner. Legend has it that Sam made it for Margaret, but chances are he had it built for her since he was away in Washington so much at that time. The feather bed belonged to a close friend of the Houstons, Henderson Yoakum. This is quite fitting since Yoakum was the first historian of Texas.

Several items of interest you may want to try and spot (or just come visit and see in person) are the boot jack, the sconces (above the fireplace), and the bed warmer.
