From the South on I-45
- Take exit 114 on I-45. (Exit 112 will get you there, but you'll need a lot of faith — it's about 4 miles.)
- Continue on the feeder road to 19th Street (Ward's Furniture is on the corner.)
- Right onto 19th. Continue about 8 blocks to Avenue O. Up ahead on the left is the Walker Education Center.
- Turn left into the Education Center and find a spot to park.
From the North on I-45
- Take exit 116 on I-45.
- Turn left at the stop light. (Highway 30 aka 11th St.)
- Turn right on Sam Houston Ave. (At the courthouse square; about a mile.)
- The museum is about a mile south of the Courthouse. There's some parking there, but we suggest you turn right on 19th street and continue to the Walker Education Center — there's more parking & that's where we can show you the introductory film that tells the story of Sam Houston's life.
