Welcome to the web-site of the Sam Houston Memorial Museum, dedicated to the life & times of General Sam Houston, former Governor of Tennessee, victor over Santa Anna in the Texas War of Independence, first President of the Republic of Texas, Senator from the State of Texas and Governor of the State of Texas. The Sam Houston Memorial Museum is located at the corner of Sam Houston Avenue and 19th St. in Huntsville, Texas. Our hours of operation are 9:00 am - 4:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday; noon - 4:30 Sunday. For special events & activities, please check the calendar.

2010 AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST!
Dust off your cameras and enter! Submissions will be accepted until April 23, 2010.
Judging: week of April 26, 2010 - winners will be notified during this week. Show: May 3- June 1 in the Exhibit Gallery of the Walker Education Center.
