Brian McColpin
Spirit Programs Coordinator

Brian oversees all Sam Houston's spirit programs. Brian has a Bachelors in University Studies from Morehead State University and is entering his sixth year as Spirit Program Coordinator. Brian is a native of Wichita, KS and is happily married to Melissa McColpin native of Council Bluffs, IA.

Lead Student Assistant

Yvette is a Senior at SHSU about to get her degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. She is going into her 4th year here at SHSU. She has cheered at Navarro College and SFA. She is a 4 time national Champion and has competed in several partner stunt competition. Along with working for NCA for 8 years and college staff all 8 years. She is very proud to be a Bearkat and to be a part of an amazing program with great people.

Courtney Sutton

Head Dance Coach

Courtney is in her ninth year as a Universal Dance Association Instructor. She is originally from Knoxville, TN where she has also been coaching dance teams and working at several local dance studios specializing in teaching jazz and hip hop. She very excited to be a Bearkat!

Dance History: Studio dance starting at age 3, competition dance 2nd grade to 12th grade, danced with Tulsa ballet summer, on the drill team all four years at Atascocita high school, served as Co-Captain and Captain, Staff for crowd pleasers dance for 2 years, first year member of Orange Pride.
