Dr. Leah Mulligan

Executive Director of Campus Activities and Leadership InitiativesLeah Mulligan

Leah Mulligan is originally from Crockett, Texas. She received both her bachelor's degree in psychology in 2000 and her master's degree in counseling in 2002 from SHSU and recently graduated with her Ed.D. in Higher Education. While working to obtain her graduate degree, Mulligan worked for Career Services as the on-campus recruiting coordinator and was in charge of the MonsterTRAK system. Previously, she worked as the assistant director for Alumni Relations, and has lived in Huntsville since 1996. Leah is married to a SHSU alumni David Mulligan and they have a future bearkat, McKenzie. They also have three dogs: Bella, Whiskey and Chloe.


Angie Taylor

Director of Leadership InitiativesAngie Taylor

Angie Taylor, Director of Leadership Initiatives, is originally from Comanche, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2003 with a BBA in Information and Operations Management and from SHSU in 2005 with a Master of Education degree in Instructional Leadership. Angie oversees the Leadership and Service Coordinator, serves as the coordinator for student organizations and assists the office in assessment and budgetary matters. She serves on the Recruitment and Retention Committee, the Official Ring Committee and the SHSU Memorial Museum Friends of Museum Board. Outside the office, Angie is a member of University Heights Baptist Church, Seven Hills Running Club and enjoys running, reading, playing piano and volunteering at the Wynne Unit. She is married to SHSU alumni Trey Taylor, a teacher and head mens soccer coach at Huntsville High School. They recently welcomed their first daughter, Reagan Elise.


Brandon CooperBrandon Cooper

Associate Director of Student Activities

Brandon Cooper, Associate Director for the Department of Student Activities is originally from Huntsville, Texas. He obtained his bachelors degree in Journalism/Public Relations with minors in Mass Communication and French from Sam Houston State University in 2005. Brandon oversees the planning and implementation of several University Special Events. He is also a member of the SHSU Homecoming Committee, the Battle of the Piney Woods Committee, the University Special Events Committee and the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Initiative. Currently he is an active member in the Huntsville/Walker County Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Huntsville Hospital Auxiliary. Brandon received his Master's degree in Instructional Leadership with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration from SHSU in May of 2011.


Donielle Miller

Assistant Director Donielle Miller

Donielle Miller, Assistant Director for the Department of Student Activities, is originally from Houston, Texas .As an alumnus of Sam Houston State University she double majored in Management and Marketing obtainingher degree in the Spring of 2009. After graduation Donielle accepted the position, Coordinator of Multicultural Student Services. In her new role as Assistant Director, Donielle advises Program Council, which is the SHSU student programming board. As a group, they plan all on-campus, general student activities delivering a variety of programming varying in focus from entertainment to multicultural to educational. Donielle also oversees the Multicultural Student Services program area. Donielle received her Master's in Higher Education Administration from Sam Houston State University in the Fall of 2011.


Meredith Conrey

Meredith Conrey, Center for Leadership & Service Coordinator, is originally from Houston, Texas. She received both her bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication in 2004 and her master’s degree in Educational Administration with a focus in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education in 2006 from Texas A&M University. Prior to working at SHSU, Meredith worked at Baylor University in Campus Living & Learning. In her free time, Meredith enjoys watching basketball and football, reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

 


Steven Begnaud

Program Coordinator for Special Events Picture Coming Soon

Steven Begnaud, Program Coordinator, is originally from Houston, Texas. He received his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 2011 from SHSU. He currently oversees Bearkat Alley and Sammypalooza, as well as other various events year round. Outside of work Steven enjoys watching football, playing with his dogs, and traveling. He plans to get his MBA from SHSU in the near future.

 

 

 


Brian McColpin

Spirit Programs CoordinatorBrian McColpin

Brian McColpin serves as the Spirit Programs Coordinator. Prior to arriving at Sam Houston State University, McColpin was the Spirit Coordinator for Iowa Western Community College. McColpin is a staff member for Universal Cheerleader's Association (UCA). He has worked for UCA for the last eight years. He is currently a head instructor and member of the UCA College Staff. He is a native of Wichita, Kansas and earned an associate’s degree from Coffeyville Community College. He transferred to Morehead State University and received a bachelor’s degree in University Studies with a minor in Women’s Studies in 2005. McColpin says he is "very happy to be part of the Bearkat Family!"


Tandi Certa

Administrative CoordinatorBrian McColpin

Tandi Certa, Administrative Coordinator for the Department of Student Activities, is originally from Huntsville, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in Business Administration. In 2005 Tandi graduated with a Master of Business Administration from Sam Houston State University. Tandi recently relocated from Austin, Texas where she worked in the Business Services department for the University of Texas. She is excited to join the Department of Student Activities at SHSU and looks forward to a long career within the department. In her free time, Tandi enjoys a wide variety of activities which include watching football, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Tandi is engaged to Travis Wright of Huntsville, Texas and they are to marry in March of 2013.


Casey Davis

Clerk IIBrian McColpin

Casey Davis, Clerk II for the Department of Student Activities, is originally from Huntsville, Texas. She graduated with an Associates Degree from Lone Star College. She previously worked at the the Texas Workforce Commission where held the position of Financial Aid Specialist. Casey will be continuing her education at Sam Houston State University as a First Generation College Student in the Spring of 2013. She will be pursing a degree in Business Administration, once completed she plans to obtain her Master's degree.
