Debbi Hatton
Debbi graduated from the University of Texas – Tyler with an Interdisciplinary MA degree in Speech Communication, Theatre and Social History and has since completed course work in Instructional Technology and Leadership.  Her quest to become a professional educator began as an undergraduate with a high school teacher certification in English, Theatre and Computer Science. Her research interests include communication technologies as conduits for freedom of expression; organizational culture as a foundation for social hegemony; and curriculum development and instructional technologies. She teaches Speech Education and Business Communication classes.
                                                 
At Sam Houston State University, Debbi has served as the Director of Forensics coaching speech and debate squads in national and international competitions.  She is also very active within professional associations serving in various leadership positions.
 
Off campus, Debbi is an avid arm-chair political pundit AKA George Stephanopoulos groupie and raises registered Polled Hereford show cattle. During the weekend you can find her heading down the highway with her two and four legged family members.
