Amber Walker fell in love with the study of communication during her first undergraduate course in interpersonal communication. She changed her major shortly after that and received her BA in communication from Columbus State University in Columbus, Ga. She went on to study communication at The University of Arkansas where she earned her MA and she completed her PhD at The Pennsylvania State University in 2007. Her main areas of interest are communication in families and personal relationships, specifically focusing on communication in parent-child relationships.

Outside of the office she enjoys cheering for both the Nittany Lions and the Razorbacks, traveling, exploring new places, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
