A LIBERAL ARTS MAJOR IS NOT READILY EMPLOYABLE

"The only thing someone can do with a degree in philosophy is teach." False. A commonly held misconception is that a major in the arts, humanities, or social sciences means that you are not qualified for any jobs or careers except in special areas. In fact, those who graduate with a major in philosophy, psychology, or history find employment in business, human resources, teaching, military, and in various other areas. Students who obtain a liberal arts degree are employable in a variety of professional jobs. In addition, a liberal arts degree can also prepare a student for graduate school in law or medicine.
