COMMISSION ON COLLEGES/NCAA CERTIFICATION

JOINT SELF-STUDY

 
In recent months Sam Houston State University has requested and received permission to conduct a joint self-study for purposes of reaffirmation of accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and athletic program certification by the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Following the Commission on Colleges’ Policies, Procedures, Guidelines (1996 edition), Sam Houston State University President Bobby K. Marks has appointed Dr. Tommy Davis to chair our NCAA Certification Steering Committee and jointly serve as a member of the SACS Self-Study Steering Committee. President Marks has also asked Dr. Davis to work closely with Dr. James Goodwin, Director of the SHSU Self-Study, to assure efficiency and effectiveness.

The NCAA Certification Steering Committee is composed of:
