Q: Who do I contact with questions regarding CITI?
A: If you have any questions regarding the CITI website, please contact Sharla Miles by email at sharla_miles@shsu.edu or phone at (936) 294-4875. You may also contact me on my Skype account:Skype user name: sharla.miles
Skype instructions: to add me to your contacts go to Skype, log in, and send me a message request. In the message, please include information that will identify you as a faculty, staff, or student of SHSU.
Q: I have entered a new profile, how long will it take for it to be validated?
A: The profile must be validated by the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. This could take several days, depending upon the availability of personnel in that office. If you enter a profile on a weekend, the account may not be validated until the early part of the following week. To avoid being delayed in starting a research project, new faculty and students are encouraged to get their profiles set weeks before they are ready to submit an application. This recommendation is particularly important for students who are conducting research for a class.
Q: What is the Application Document Version Number?
A: A new submission is always identified as Version 1. If the user is submitting a revised edition, type 2 in the version box.
Q: What do I do if I do not know what my user name or password is or I forgot my user name or password?
A: Email Sharla Miles at sharla_miles@shsu.edu and she can have your login credentials emailed to you.
Q: When I am reviewing an application, where is the Save button?
A: The Save button is a slow blinking gray floppy disk in the upper left hand corner of the Reviewer Dashboard. The Save button will not start blinking until there is something that needs to be saved.
Q: How can I tell the status of my IRB application?
A: When you open the Submissions page of the application, the status of your application is listed there. If your status says, In Development, that means either it has not been submitted or it has been returned to you for changes or corrections.
Q: How can I see the comments for changes or corrections to be made to my application?
A: If you click on the folder under Open on the Submission page, it will open up the Components for Initial Review page, there you can see the comments that anyone has left for you.
Q: How do I make changes/corrections to my application when it is sent back to me?
A: On the application page itself, you will need to uncheck the Complete box, make the necessary changes/corrections and then re-check the Complete box. The application will then need to be resubmitted.
